Following a recent re-structuring of the business, we are pleased to announce the formation of a new and dedicated Portable Metrology Division of Measurement Solutions.

Originally  founded in 1998 as a solution provider for users of CMM’s, Measurement Solutions has grown to be the UK’s leading independent provider of CMM services. However, manufacturing industry is progressively moving away from CMM's towards portable metrology systems, in particular hand-held scanning. To better address these changes, we are announcing a strategical re-structuring of our business activities to provide customers with a more responsive and technically capable sales and support experience.

The metrology landscape has been stagnant for many years, with CMM’s and portable arms being the only viable technologies available for inspection and QC. However, the emergence of radically new and innovative technologies such as optical measurement and 3D scanning from exciting new enterprises such as Creaform 3D have opened the eyes of anybody involved in measurement and inspection as to new ways of acquiring Quality Measurement Data.

The new Portable Metrology Division will be managed by Jason Bridge, who has over 20 years experience in the sales of 3D metrology systems and solutions, including CMM's, optical inspection and 3D scanning.

"Measurement Solutions is well-known in the UK market for providing a broad range of products and services, hence our company name. However, we now see the need to focus on specific applications and markets to improve our ability to serve our customers better" comments Jason Bridge.

Jason's team will focus primarily on portable measurement solutions, providing an array of 3D measurement and scanning systems for a wide range of applications. Activities will focus exclusively on sales and support of portable measuring systems for industrial applications, such as the market-leading HandySCAN3D and MetraSCAN3D solutions from Creaform. Typical application areas include metrology and product inspection, product design & development, and reverse engineering.

The new Division addresses the growing demand for portable measurement at the point of manufacture. While CMM's still provide the ultimate in measuring accuracy, in the vast majority of cases that accuracy is not essential, and hand-held measurement provides far greater ease of use and operator flexibility and efficiency. With systems starting from well under £20,000, MSL are sure to have a solution for every need.
